Turkey & The Tide

Welcome to another post, highlighting yet another family trip to good ol’ Port Aransas, Texas. At this point, I feel as though I should work for the Port A tourism board. (On a not-so-serious—but possibly serious—note, if anyone from the tourism board is reading this, I’m definitely open to freelance opportunities! Have camera, will travel!)

This is the second post in a row spotlighting a trip to the coast, my fourth Port A story on this blog, and it certainly won’t be the last—I have at least one more planned before the year’s end. I really wasn’t joking in my last post when I said Port Aransas feels like my home away from home. As of this writing, we may even fit in another trip before the year wraps up, and we’ve already got at least one for 2025 on the horizon.

For me, there’s just something about the Texas Gulf Coast, especially the Corpus Christi and Port Aransas area, that draws me in—and has done so for nearly two decades. The coast has been an escape when I needed it most, helping me navigate through challenging times. To this day, it remains a place where I can recharge, relax, and have some fun. Nowhere else has such a powerful and almost immediate positive effect on me—outside of being home with the family, playing a board game, or teaming up with Sarah to crush the kids in a round of Mario Party.

Needless to say, my excitement for the beach has only grown over time and with each trip—especially now that I get to share my love of the Texas coast with the kiddos. So, for us—or at least for me—it made perfect sense to forgo our usual Thanksgiving routine and spend the entire Turkey Day week surrounded by sand, salty air, and the sound of crashing waves. It was our longest trip to date and arguably one of our best. Even though the weather turned a bit colder toward the end of our stay, we still had a blast, ate well, and made unforgettable memories.

For the most part, aside from trips to the pool, the beach, and the store, we stayed put at the beach house and just enjoyed life. Because of that, I’ll let the images I took tell the rest of the story, as there’s really not much more I can add—at least, not anything I feel the need to publicly broadcast. So, on that note, thank you very much for reading this post, assuming you’ve made it this far, and enjoy the images.

Until next time!
