Blog Delays + Rainy Days

Whelp, oops. My previous post (“This Is The End…”), albeit inadvertently, almost turned out to be the actual “last” post of this blog. I originally intended to upload this follow-up entry that same week, but life happened, and smacked me in the face with more work than I have encountered in an extremely long time. So, yeah, here I am several months later with the content from Port Aransas that I planned to share all the way back in February.

The funny part, at least to me, kind of, is that the images below were taken back in November of 2022, and not at all current. Truthfully, I do not know why I placed an extreme sense of urgency on my timeline, especially since I was way off target. Oh well. I’ll just chalk this up to life being random, this being my blog and therefore my rules.

I will say that the trip, while being mostly cold and rainy, was still great. Any trip to the Texas Gulf Coast is a good trip, especially if it keeps me out of the office and allows me ample time to spend with my family.

Anyway, onward to the random set of images from a trip to Port Aransas, Texas from back in November of 2022. Enjoy the visual journey!

A nighttime view from our balcony overlooking the town center of Cinnamon Shore.

When we arrived in Port Aransas we were greeted with a lot of rain, as well as some rather cold weather. Both the rain and the cold stuck around not only into the next morning, but also for the entirety of our stay. Again, although the weather was less than ideal for a beach outing, the trip was still great.

A nice cup of Morning Glory, a coffee porter, from Gather Brewing in Universal City, TX.

Looking up into the palms, and trying to make the best out of the cold and wet weather.

Our first full day at Cinnamon Shore had us staying put in the condo that we rented, for the most part, and only venturing out in between breaks in what seemed like an endless barrage of storms. We played games, watched movies, and ultimately just relaxed.

The next day was packed full of rain, much like the first day, but we opted to leave our condo for a little while and head into Corpus Christi to visit Nueces Brewing Co., which has become a go-to place for us to visit every trip to the coast. The beer is pretty darn good, as is the barbecue, and it is overall just a cool place. I certainly recommend it.

Later on that day, after we made it back to the condo, we opted to take a stroll to the beach. The weather, still overcast, made for some very moody images.

As luck would have it, on the morning that we needed to pack up and head home, the weather cleared, and the sun made a very welcome appearance. Thankfully, we did not have to check out too early, so there was plenty of time for a morning trek down the boardwalk and along the beach.
